Dr Sara M. Freeman
“Why do Fools Fall in Love? The Neuroscience of Social Bonding”.
Dr. Sara M. Freeman has been an Assistant Professor of Neurobiology in the Biology Department since August 2019. Sara was born in Atlanta, GA and received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia in 2006. She completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2013 from Emory University, and from 2013-2019, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Davis. Her current research program at USU uses a comparative and translational approach across highly social species of rodents, primates, canids, and humans in order to better understand the social systems of the brain.
