About the Event
Join us for this month’s Knowledge on Tap, where history meets hops in a relaxed setting that blends intellect and good vibes.
This month’s theme: “Roman Vibes & Logan’s Roots.”
Our first speaker, Alvaro Ibarra, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Art History at Utah State University. With a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Ibarra’s work explores Mexican modernism, Latinx art, and the classical tradition in modern media. His talk will delve into the lesser-known corners of Ancient Rome—marginalia, media, and meaning—connecting the past to present through film, video games, and contemporary culture.
Following that, Mark Lunt, Cache Bar’s founder and a passionate advocate for Downtown Logan, will share his perspective on the city’s historical heart. Mark's talk will focus on the Canyon Road Corridor, highlighting:
The Historic Ash Trees 🌳
The Blocked Canal Trail 🚧
Mudslide Park 🌄
The Ongoing Canyon Road Construction 🚜
Mark’s journey from mailman to community champion includes spearheading the BLVD trail, reviving the Island Market, and launching Cache Bar to bring nightlife to downtown. His love for Logan is both deep and action-driven—you won’t want to miss his take on where we’ve been and where we’re headed.
Come for the stories. Stay for the drinks. Bring a friend and get inspired.
