Aryn’s research is focused on understanding what causes hearing loss and developing better tests to detect inner ear disorders. Title of talk: Development and Evolution of Intelligence
Presenter: Dr Kerry Jordan
Bio: Dr. Kerry Jordan is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University, where she studies animal and human cognition. Her research focuses on understanding how we develop and can improve math skills over our lifespan, from babies just beginning to estimate quantities in their environments to older adults navigating more complex financial decisions. Her teaching focuses on cognitive science, and in particular understanding why we reason the way we do--common brain biases and errors included. Such knowledge from cognitive science helps us determine when and why we should question our own memories--and even what we have seen with our own eyes--to better identify misinformation and falsehoods we may encounter.
